MARFA — A total of 64 bulls averaged $2028 at the first J.E. White Jr. & Sons Certified Horned Hereford Sale here recently. The top selling bull, son of CL 1 Domino 126, sold to Jim Youngblood, De Kalb, Texas, for $6000. The second high selling bull, son of CL 1 Domino 129, sold to Dudley Brothers, Commanche, Texas, for $3500. Only nine bulls sold below $1500. Volume bull buyers were W.T. Waggoner Ranch Estate, Vernon, 17 bulls; Wilson Scaling, Henrietta, seven bulls; Billy Green, Albany, five; Watt Matthews Ranch, Albany, five; and Buster Cole, Goldsmith, five. In addition to the bulls, 356 heifers from the Brite Ranch and the White commercial herd averaged $858. Volume female buyers were W.T. Waggoner Estate, 166 head; Steve Gault, Animas, N.M., Gary Carrithers, Brady; and Loy Moore, Livingston, Texas. |
