JB Cattle Co., Abilene, sold on a delivered basis to Oklahoma wheat one load of No. 1 or better Okie steers and bulls weighing 551 pounds at $62.70, also one load of No. 1 Okie and crossbred steers and bulls weighing 636 at $58.20; to Kansas wheat a load of No. 1 Okie and crossbred heifers weighing 518 at $57.40; to a West Texas feedyard a load of No. 1 Okie heifers weighing 686 at $52.40 f.o.b. USDA reports 1375 head of feeder cattle selling direct off Oklahoma range, including: for March through May delivery medium and large No. 1 heifers to weigh 700-750 pounds at $61; for March similar steers to weigh 800 at $64.50; for January such steers to weigh 800 at $66.25; for current delivery steers weighing 750 pounds at $65 and similar heifers weighing 600-700 at $58-61. Direct feeder cattle trade in the Northwest as confirmed by USDA totaled 1600 head. Medium and large No. 1 steers weighing 600 pounds brought $60-60.50 f.o.b. Oregon and $62 f.o.b. Idaho, 650-700 pounds $62 f.o.b. Washington; similar heifers weighing 500-600 pounds were $53-56 f.o.b. Oregon, 600-650 pounds $55 f.o.b. Washington; a group of black heifers weighing 950-1000 pounds and bred for February calves brought $600 per head. Direct feeder cattle sales in Kentucky as confirmed by USDA totaled 5387 head. Medium and large No. 1 steers weighing 500-600 pounds brought $56-58, 750-850 pounds $59-61 with a few loads of blacks to $62.50-63, 900-950 pounds $58-60, blacks to $62.50; similar heifers weighing 600-650 pounds were $53-55, four loads of black heifers of the same weights $56-57, 700-800 pounds $55-57. |
