PIERRE, S.D. —(AP)— All 1000 tickets to the governor's Dec. 12 Cattle Conference in Pierre have been sold. "t appears that almost all the tickets are in the hands of South Dakota cattle producers. This is very pleasing because these are the people we wanted to attend," said Tim Alcorn, of the state Department of Agriculture. Gov. Bill Janklow is organizing the conference in response to low cattle prices and concerns about the future of the beef industry. Various speakers will discuss different aspects of the cattle industry. Unfilled ticket orders sent to the Agriculture Department will be returned. Alcorn said those unable to get tickets have these options: put their name on a list for any tickets that become available; order a videotape of the day's conference for $15, or order a set of audio tapes for $5. |
