FRANKLIN, Texas —(Nov. 15-16)— A total of 241 bulls sold at the Camp Cooley Ranch Brangus sale for an average of $3045 per head, and 726 females averaged $1505. The top priced bull, born in January 1995, brought $64,000 for a half interest and possession to Don Smith, Columbia, Mississippi; Center Ranch, Centerville, Texas; LaTerre Plantation, Lafayette, Louisiana; and Drews Cattle Co., Marlin, Texas. Second high priced bulls was a fall yearling at $24,000 for half interest and possession to Salacoa Valley Farm, Fairmount, Georgia; Hardee Farms, Chiefland, Florida; and Heldon Ranch, Ocala, Florida. Two bred cows topped the female sale at $8500 each, going to Center Ranch, Centerville, Texas. In the balance of the sale, two bulls brought $17,000, 125 spring bulls averaged $3103, and 115 fall bulls averaged $2861; two bred females brought $8000 and $7750, 62 female calves averaged $1338, 144 open heifers averaged $1371, 85 bred heifers averaged $1492, 180 bred cows $1557, 218 pairs $1690, and 37 open cows $998. A total of 106 recipient cows with calves averaged $867. |
