Heavy lamb carcasses are dwindling
in numbers and packers are searching for them, which
prompted a $15 jump in price last week. At that, the
price is still considerably less than for lighter
weights.

Feeder lambs sold generally steady this week, slaughter
lambs firm to $2 higher and slaughter ewes weak to $1
lower. Receipts totaled 10,789 head.

Saba, Brownwood Mason Cattle Steady
Cattle Prices in general were steady last week
in Mason, Brownwood and San Saba except choice
lightweight steers $1-3 higher. Receipts at the three
sales totaled 3124 head.
