HEADS BURIED in scrub cedar for shade, these finewool ewes west of San Angelo were doing what they could last week to cope with the summer heat. That was expected to change late this week as a cold front brings fall temperatures to the region, if only for a few days. Most forecasts also hinted at a little welcome rain, but no one was willing to make book on it.

Lamb Prices Continue To Soften
Despite a little strength in the lamb carcass trade, fat and feeder lamb prices around the country suffered setbacks this week.
