Dan Mortensen Breaks Record;
Most Money In Single Event

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Three time world champion saddle bronc rider Dan Mortensen, Manhattan, Mont., has set a new all-time professional rodeo record for the most money earned in a single event during the regular season.

As of this week, Mortensen has earned $130,868 this season in saddle bronc riding. The previous record was set two years ago by barrel racer Sherry Cervi of Midland, Texas. Cervi, the 1995 world champion barrel racer, amassed $129,584 during that season.

Mortensen continues his lead in the PRCA all-around event, earning a total of $139,260 in saddle bronc and bull riding competition. He is followed by Cody Ohl, Orchard, Texas, with $103,510; Joe Beaver, Huntsville, Texas, $69,858; Butch Myers, Huntsville, Texas, $68,616; and Chad Hagan, Leesville, La., $67,610.
