Forage College Dec. 5
At Stillwater, Okla.

STILLWATER, Okla. — A Forage Management College is planned here Dec. 5 in conjunction with the annual meeting of the Oklahoma Forage and Grazing Council.

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. at the Best Western Motel at Perkins Road and McElroy in northeast Stillwater. The Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service is co-sponsoring the college.

Morning topics include:

Is There an Economic Return from Soil Testing? presented by Gordon Johnson, Oklahoma State University Cooperative Extension soil specialist; Increasing the Utility of Old World Bluestems with Overseeded Legumes, offered by John Caddel, OSU Cooperative Extension forage specialist; Are Year-Round Forage Systems Myth or Reality? from Larry Redmon, OSU Cooperative Extension forage specialist; Producing Forage and Beef without Nitrogen Fertilizer, from Bob Woods, OSU Cooperative Extension area agronomist at Muskogee.

After lunch, Dave Lalman, OSU Cooperative Extension beef cattle specialist, will explain new computer software programs for estimating supplement requirements.

The business meeting of the Oklahoma Forage and Grazing Council will wrap up the schedule by 3 p.m.
