Lamb Feeders To Meet
Jan. 29 In Ft. Worth
FORT WORTH The National Lamb Feeders
Association will conduct its annual meeting January 29-31
at the Raddisson Plaza Hotel here.
The board of directors will meet on Thursday the 29th,
followed by a welcoming reception at 6 p.m.
Fridays program will include presentations from
representatives of the Texas Sheep and Goat Raisers
Association, National Sheep Improvement Center, American
Sheep Industry Association, USDA and Tecker Group, a
consulting firm working with the American Sheep Industry
Association.
Saturdays lineup includes Bob McDonald with USDA
Absorbents; Kerry Cornelius, TCU Ranch Management
Program; David Winters with a Scrapie update, Al Strube
and Ray Ellis with a Texas packing house update; and
Richard Drake and Ernest Woodward speaking about the Lamb
Task Force.
The agenda also includes an international marketing
panel consisting of Francis Cassidy with the Australian
Meat and Livestock Corporation; Bill Joyce, regional
manager for the New Zealand Meat Producers Board; Ed
Avalos, New Mexico Department of Ag (Mexico Exports);
Leroy Kesee, Forte, Dupee & Sawyer (wool); Don Debey,
Mountain Meadows Lamb (breaker); Teddi Crippen, Superior
Farms Marketing Director; Don Godby, (lamb feeder); and
Jimmy Cole of Custom Skins, representing the pelt
industry.
A regional feeder panel and the NLFA business meeting
are scheduled for that afternoon. The annual awards
banquet will be that evening at 7:30 p.m. Layton Black
will be the master of ceremonies.
