Vann-Roach Cattle Co., Fort Worth, bought in New Mexico for current delivery 700 English and exotic cross steers weighing 625 pounds at $80, and in the Texas Panhandle for current delivery 310 similar steers weighing 800 at $73.50; in Oklahoma for July delivery 200 such steers to weigh 750 at $1 back of the August futures board; for May 260 steers to weigh 750 at a price even with the May board.

JB Cattle Co., Abilene, sold on a delivered basis to a New Mexico buyer one load of crossbred steers weighing 440 pounds at $91.50; to Texas Panhandle buyers one load of No. 1 Okie and crossbred steers weighing 605 at $84.89 and a load of crossbred heifers weighing 400 at $82.60; to a Kansas buyer a load of springer cows, 6-7 months bred, weighing 960 at $525 per head.

USDA reports 8300 head of feeder cattle selling direct off Oklahoma range, including: for June delivery medium and large No. 1 steers to weigh 775 pounds at $75, also similar heifers to weigh 725 at $70-74; for April heifers to weigh 700 pounds at $73; for current delivery steers weighing 700-775 at $70-77, 800-825 pounds at $72.50-74, and 925 pounds at $69, as well as similar heifers weighing 700-750 pounds at $70-73.

Direct feeder cattle trade in the Northwest as confirmed by USDA totaled 4700 head. Medium and large No. 1 steers weighing 600-650 pounds brought $86.50 f.o.b. Idaho, 850 pounds $73-75 f.o.b. Oregon, 850-875 pounds $70-73 delivered in Washington and Idaho, and 900 pounds $71.50 delivered in Idaho; similar heifers weighing 800-850 pounds were $70-72 f.o.b. Idaho and Oregon.

Montana direct feeder cattle trade as reported by USDA came to 1255 head. Medium and large No. 1 steers weighing 775-800 pounds made $75-76 and 800-815 pounds $72-73; similar heifers weighing 700 pounds were $71 and 750-775 pounds $69-71, all f.o.b. for current delivery.
