Panhandle 420 No. 1 and better steers weighing 775 pounds
at $75, also 65 Okie and crossbred steers weighing 750 at
$75, and 680 No. 1 and better heifers weighing 725-750 at
$71.
USDA reports 6905 head of feeder cattle selling direct
off Oklahoma range, including: for May delivery medium
and large No. 1 heifers to weigh 750 pounds at $70; for
April through May similar steers to weigh 750-800 at
$73.50-75; for current delivery steers weighing 650 at
$78, 710-775 pounds at $73.50-76, and 800-850 pounds at
$71.50-73.75; similar heifers weighing 700-750 at $70-72,
mostly $70.
Direct feeder cattle trade in the Northwest as
confirmed by USDA totaled 900 head. Medium and large No.
1 steers weighing 750 pounds brought $75 f.o.b. Idaho and
875 pounds $74 f.o.b. Washington; similar heifers
weighing 850 were $71.50 f.o.b. Washington.
Montana direct feeder cattle trade as tallied by USDA
came to 1365 head. Medium and large No. 1 steers weighing
800-850 pounds brought $72-73, 850-900 pounds $71-72;
similar heifers weighing 700 made $71, 750-800 pounds
$70-71, and 800 pounds $67.50-69, all f.o.b. basis for
current delivery.
