Abilene Feeder Steer,
Heifer Trend Higher

ABILENE —(March 24)— Feeder steers and heifers weighing under 500 pounds sold $4-5 higher, over 500 pounds $2-3 higher, slaughter cows $1 higher, bulls $2-3 higher, stock cows $30-40 higher. Receipts totaled 2222 head.

Feeder steers: medium and large No. 1 200-300 lbs $108-119, few up to $134, 300-400 lbs. $103-113, package 393 lbs. $118, 400-500 lbs. $98-109, few $113, 500-600 lbs. $89-99, 600-700 lbs. $79-87, 700-800 lbs. $73-78, 800-900 lbs. $71.50-76.50.

Feeder heifers: medium and large No. 1 200-300 lbs. $107.50-121, few to $130, 300-400 lbs. $89-96, 400-500 lbs. $89-97, few to $103, 500-60 lbs. $79-89, 600-700 lbs. $67-72.50, few to $78, 700-800 lbs. $64.50-68.

Slaughter cows: high cutter and boning utility 1-3 $37-42, high dressing $42-44, cutter 1-3 $32-36.50, canner and low cutter $50-57; yield grade 1-2 bulls 1650-2100 lbs. $50-57, low yielding 1400-1850 lbs. $47-49.50.

Stock cows: young 1000-1300 lbs. medium to long bred $550-640 per head, aged 950-1400 lbs. medium to long bred $415-540; young 950-1150 lb. cows with 100-200 lb. calves $685-765 per pair, aged 900-1100 lb. cows with 75-200 lb. calves $560-675.
