Oklahoma for April 15-30 delivery 24 loads of choice
steers to weigh 825 pounds at $72.75; for May 1-20
delivery four loads of No. 1 English-exotic cross heifers
to weigh 740 at $71, and for May 20 through June 10
delivery six loads of similar heifers to weigh 650 at
$3.50 back of the August futures board. The firm bought
in West Texas for delivery through the end of this month
140 No. 1 English and exotic cross heifers weighing 725
at $68.35; in the Texas Panhandle for current delivery
three loads of choice steers weighing 800 at $73; and in
East Texas for current delivery 540 No. 1 English and
exotic cross heifers weighing 630 at $72.
Ty Jones Cattle Co., Canyon, bought in the Texas
Panhandle for May delivery 420 No. 1-1½ Okie heifers to
weigh 725 pounds at $68, and for current delivery 240 No.
1 English cross steers weighing 750 at $74; in New Mexico
for current delivery 350 No. 1 crossbred steers weighing
750 at $74, also 740 No. 1 Okie and crossbred heifers
weighing 725 at $69.
USDA reports 3055 head of feeder cattle selling direct
off Oklahoma range, including: for April through May
delivery medium and large No. 1 heifers to weigh 725
pounds at $67.25-68; for current delivery similar steers
weighing 800-850 pounds at $71-73, also 900 pounds at
$68; similar heifers weighing 650 at $72, 700-750 pounds
at $70-70.75, and 775 pounds at $68.
Direct feeder cattle trade in the Northwest as
confirmed by USDA totaled 1500 head of medium and large
No. 1 steers weighing 600 pounds at $82-85 delivered in
Idaho and Washington.
Montana direct feeder cattle trade by USDA count
totaled 1565 head. Medium and large No. 1 steers weighing
575 pounds brought $92, 750-800 pounds $76-77, 850-875
pounds $71-72; similar heifers weighing 525 pounds were
$86, 650 pounds $80, 700-725 pounds $70-71, and 800-825
pounds $68.50-69, all current prices on an f.o.b. basis.
