Oklahoma for May 25 to June 15 delivery 450 No. 1 English
and exotic cross heifers to weigh 650 pounds at $74; for
April 20 to May 1 delivery 975 similar heifers to weigh
750 at $70.75; for June 1-10 delivery 280 similar heifers
to weigh 650 at $3.50 back of the August board. The firm
bought in West Texas for April 20 to May 10 delivery 195
similar steers to weigh 775 at $75; for June delivery 350
No. 1 crossbred heifers to weigh 675 at $72; and for May
delivery 205 similar heifers to weigh 715 at $70.
Ty Jones Cattle Co., Canyon, bought in North Texas for
May delivery 200 No. 1½ Okie and crossbred heifers to
weigh 725 pounds at $70, and for current delivery 750
similar heifers weighing 650 at $72; in the Texas
Panhandle 380 No. 1 crossbred steers weighing 750 at $86,
also 430 No. 1 Okie and crossbred steers weighing 800 at
$74.50; in West Texas 210 No. 1 crossbred steers weighing
650 at $80.
JB Cattle Co., Abilene, sold on a delivered basis to
Oklahoma grass one load of No. 1½ steers and bulls
weighing 400 pounds at $96.40, also a load of No. 1 Okie
heifers weighing 500 at $87.21; to a Kansas buyer one
load of No. 1-1½ crossbred steers and bulls weighing 450
at $86; to the Texas Panhandle a load of Okie steers and
bulls weighing 600 at $81.73.
USDA reports 5705 head of feeder cattle selling direct
off Oklahoma range, including: for late April through May
delivery medium and large No. 1 steers to weigh 800
pounds at $73-74, also similar heifers to weigh 725-750
pounds at $70-71; for current delivery similar steers
weighing 735-750 pounds at $75-76.50, 800-830 pounds at
$71-73 early and $73-75 late, plus several loads of
fleshy steers weighing 875 at $70; similar heifers
weighing 700-750 at $70-71 and 800 pounds at $68.
Direct feeder cattle trade in the Northwest as
confirmed by USDA totaled 1200 head. Medium and large No.
1 steers weighing 800-900 pounds brought $73-75 and
similar heifers weighing 800-850 brought $71-72, all
f.o.b. Idaho, Washington and Oregon.
