Cattle Prices Lower

SAN ANGELO — Feeder lambs sold $2-4 lower this week, a few oldcrops steady, slaughter lambs $2-3 lower, ewes $3-5 lower. Receipts totaled 9048 head.

Feeder steers and heifers were weak to $1 lower last week, slaughter cows and bulls steady to $1 lower, stock cows and pairs weak. Receipts totaled 2522 head.

Feeder lambs: medium and large 1-2 35-60 lbs. $85-105, 60-70 lbs. $80-85, 70-80 lbs. $77-82, 80-100 lbs. $73-75; oldcrops 70-100 lbs. $63-73.

Slaughter lambs: choice 2-3 shorn, few wooled 100-130 lbs. $58-65; good and choice 2-4 slaughter ewes $35-44, utility and good 2-3 $43-57, utility 1-2 $35-42, cull and utility 1-2 $25-41; bucks $30-40.

Stock ewes: medium and large 1-2 ewes with lambs $40 each.

Goats: slaughter billy and mutton meat goats 100-150 lbs. $55-75 per head, 150-225 lbs. $110-125; nannies 70-115 lbs. $48-57 cwt., thin 60-90 lbs. $38-47, choice and prime kids and yearlings 35-60 lbs. $78-88, choice 35-60 lbs. $70-75, 60-100 lbs. $68-73, good 35-60 lbs. $55-65; good Angoras 55-80 lbs. $35-48.

Feeder steers: medium and large No. 1 300-400 lbs. $100-109, 400-500 lbs. $89-99, few $100-103, 500-600 lbs. $84-93, few $95-106, 600-700 lbs. $76-83, 700-800 lbs. $71.25-75.25.

Feeder heifers: medium and large No. 1 200-300 lbs. $95-101, 300-400 lbs. $83-93, 400-500 lbs. $77-87, 500-600 lbs. $72-82.50, 600-700 lbs. $70-76.50, 700-800 lbs. $67-70.

Slaughter cows: breaking utility 2-3 $35-38, cutter and boning utility 1-2 $34-39.50, canner and low cutter 1-2 $27-34; yield grade 1-2 bulls 1400-2200 lbs. $46.50-52, low dressing 1100-1750 lbs. $36-46.

Stock cows: medium and large 1-2 young 700-1000 lbs. $53-56, young and middleaged 800-1175 lbs. $45-49.50, middleaged 800-1175 lbs. $35-40; medium 1-2 young bred cows and heifers $450-600 per head; medium 1-2 cows with 100-300 lb. calves $530-680 per pair.
