1998 Oklahoma Beef
Congress April 15

GUTHRIE, Okla. — The 1998 Oklahoma Beef Congress is set for April 15, 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Oklahoma Feeders Inc., eight miles east of Guthrie on Highway 105, then north 1½ miles on Coyle Road (Indian Meridian).

The annual beef congress has proven popular over the years because it provides up-to-date information about industry concerns combined with actual inspection of animals enrolled in the OSU OK Steer Feed-Out program, says Greg Highfill, OSU Cooperative Extension area livestock specialist from Enid.

"Management decisions and their effect on breeding programs, production efficiency and carcass merit are changing beef production and adding a variety of marketing options for producers," Highfill says.

Although there is no fee required to attend the congress, participants are asked to pre-register no later than April 10 to ensure sufficient lunches and conference materials are available.

Registration forms are available at all OSU Cooperative Extension county offices. Lunch will be provided free-of-charge by Oklahoma Feeders Inc.
