COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — After being out of PRCA competition for a year and a half due to a knee injury, bulldogger Mike Smith, Baton Rouge, La., is now back in winning form. Smith, who finished runner-up to the world championship in 1990 and ‘93, is now back in the world-title hunt, sitting in the 14th slot of the March 30 Crown Royal World Standings. Most recently he pocketed $1534 and his event’s average title at the Walker County Pro Rodeo in Huntsville, Texas.

Ty Murray, Stephenville, Texas, continues to lead the Crown Royal all-around competition with $53,056. He is followed by Trevor Brazile, Decatur, Texas, with $31,533; Herbert Theriot, Poplarville, Miss., $24,933; Joe Beaver, Huntsville, Texas, $19,406; and Todd Arthur, Waller, Texas, $17,216.
