Abilene Feeder Steers,
Heifers Mostly Steady

ABILENE —(April 28)— Feeder steers and heifers sold mostly steady, plain steers 500-700 pounds and 400-500 pound heifers $1-2 lower, slaughter cows and bulls steady, stock cows and pairs mostly steady. Receipts totaled 2348 head.

Feeder steers: medium and large No. 1 200-300 lbs. $111-118, 300-400 lbs. $98-108, 400-500 lbs. $90-99, 500-600 lbs. $82-91, 600-700 lbs. $73-78, 700-800 lbs. $70-74, 800-700 lbs. $66-69.50, package $72.75.

Feeder heifers: medium and large No. 1 300-400 lbs. $84-93, 400-500 lbs. $80-86, 500-600 lbs. $75-80, 600-700 lbs. $69-74.50, 700-800 lbs. $65-69.

Slaughter cows: high cutter and boning utility 1-3 $37.50-41, cutter 1-3 $33.50-37, canner and low cutter $28.50-33; yield grade 1-2 bulls 1600-1700 lbs. $46-52.

Stock cows: young 900-1300 lbs. 7-8 months bred $590-640 per head, aged 900-1200 lbs. 6-8 months bred $490-585; young 950-1300 lb. cows with 75-150 lb. calves $680-750 per pair, aged 950-1250 lb. cows with 100-200 lb. calves $510-660.
