Abilene Feeder Steer,
Heifer Prices Mixed

ABILENE —(May 5)— Feeder steers and heifers with quality and condition sold $1-2 higher, fleshy lightweight offerings $1-2 lower, slaughter cows and bulls steady, stock cows slightly lower, pairs steady. Receipts totaled 2349 head.

Feeder steers: medium and large No. 1 200-300 lbs. $104-114, 300-400 lbs. $98-107, 400-500 lbs. $87-96, 500-600 lbs. $82-89, 600-700 lbs. $78.50-83, 700-800 lbs. $71.50-76.50, 800-900 lbs. $69-72.25.

Feeder heifers: medium and large No. 1 300-400 lbs. $86-92, 400-500 lbs. $79-84, 500-600 lbs. $75-81, 600-700 lbs. $70-76, 700-800 lbs. $66.50-70, 800-900 lbs. $64.50-69.

Slaughter cows: high cutter and boning utility 1-3 $37-40, high dressing $41.50, cutter 1-3 $33.50-36.50, canner and low cutter $26-88; yield grade 1-2 bulls 1650-2400 lbs. $49-52, low yielding 1450-1800 lbs. $46-48.50.

Stock cows: young 850-1200 lbs. 5-8 months bred $500-560 per head, aged 950-1100 lbs. 6-8 months bred $430-490; young 1150-1300 lb. cows with 75-100 lb. calves, $650-700 per pair, aged 900-1350 lb. cows with 75-100 lb. calves $570-630.
