Vann-Roach Cattle Co., Fort Worth, bought in the Texas Panhandle five loads of choice steers weighing 750 pounds at $75.50, also four loads of No. 1 English-exotic cross steers weighing 775 at $74, and 400 head of similar steers at the same weight and price; in Central Texas two loads of No. 1 exotic cross steers weighing 775 at $73 and two loads of heifer mates weighing 750 at $70.

Brown Cattle Co., Clyde, sold on a delivered basis to a Nebraska buyer one load of fancy black and black whiteface steers weighing 698 pounds at $76.58; to New Mexico grass two loads of crossbred and Okie heifers weighing 400 at $77.75, also two loads of similar heifers weighing 519 at $73.18; to northern Oklahoma one load of No. 1 feeder heifers weighing 698 at $72.30; to a West Texas feedyard a load of No. 1-1½ Okie and crossbred heifers weighing 550 at $70.60.

USDA reports 4735 head of feeder cattle selling direct off Oklahoma range, including: for June through August 1 delivery medium and large No. 1 heifers to weigh 725-775 pounds at $70-72; for current delivery similar heifers weighing 775 at $73.50 and 800-850 pounds at $72.50-73.50, also 900-925 pounds at $70; similar heifers weighing 725-750 at $70.50-72.25; medium and large 1-2 steers weighing 850 at $71-71.50 and similar heifers weighing 700-800 at $68.50-70.50.

Direct feeder cattle trade in the Northwest as confirmed by USDA totaled 1600 head. Medium and large No. 1 steers weighing 650 pounds brought $78 f.o.b. Oregon, 850-875 pounds $73-74 f.o.b. Oregon; similar heifers weighing 600 pounds were $73 f.o.b. Oregon and 800-825 pounds $70-71 f.o.b. Washington and Oregon.

Montana direct feeder trade by USDA count came to 980 head. Medium and large No. 1 steers weighing 650 pounds made $85 f.o.b., one load of 750 pounders $76.50 and 800-825 pound offerings $74-75; similar heifers weighing 625 were $81 and 700-750 pounds $72-73.
