to Northwest Texas grass one load of No. 1 Okie and
crossbred heifers weighing 435 pounds at $78.24; to
Colorado one load of fancy black whiteface heifers
weighing 615 at $78; to New Mexico two loads of No. 1
crossbred and Okie heifers weighing 425 at $76.75, also
two loads of similar crossbred and Okie heifers weighing
515 at $73.02; to a West Texas feedyard one load of No.
1-1½ steers with a few bulls, weighing 575 at $74.02,
also two loads of similar heifers weighing 565 at $70.75;
to a local buyer two loads of No. 1 and better crossbred
and Okie heifers weighing 415 at $77.80 f.o.b.
Ty Jones Cattle Co., Canyon, bought in Oklahoma for
current delivery 70 No. 1 Okie steers weighing 750-775
pounds at $72, also 150 choice heifers weighing 725 at
$68.50.
JB Cattle Co., Abilene, sold on a delivered basis to
Kansas grass one load of No. 1 steers and bulls weighing
425 pounds at $87; to a Kansas feedyard one load of No.
1-1½ heifers weighing 750 at $65; elsewhere in Kansas a
load of roping steers and heifers weighing 425 at $310
per head. The firm sold on an f.o.b. basis to a West
Texas feedyard one load of No 1½ cutting bulls weighing
600 at $68, and to Oklahoma grass a load of springers and
pairs at $555 and $650, respectively.
USDA reports 7280 head of feeder cattle selling direct
off Oklahoma range, including: for late July through
early August delivery medium and large No. 1 heifers to
weigh 725 pounds at $72.50; for current delivery similar
steers weighing 525 pounds at $86 off wheat, also 710-785
pounds at $74-76 and 800-825 pounds at $71-74; similar
heifers weighing 675-750 pounds at $69-72.50, mostly $70,
and 825 pounds at $65-67.75.
Montana direct feedlot trade as confirmed by USDA
totaled fewer than 200 head. Medium and large No. 1
steers weighing 580 pounds brought $80 and 793 pounds
$75, all f.o.b. for current delivery.
