Roper Trevor Brazile Holds
Strong Second In All-Around

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — He is immersed in a sea of world-class rodeo talent, but Trevor Brazile is showing no signs of being swallowed up by the competition.

The 21 year-old roper from Decatur, Texas, has consistently attacked the 1998 Crown Royal World Standings in several categories. As of May 11, Brazile was ranked second to seven-time world champ Ty Murray in the all-around standings and second to 12-time world titlist Guy Allen in the steer roping standings. He also was ranked fourth in the world team roping (heeling) standings, which are led by reigning world champ Rich Skelton.

Brazile’s winnings to date total $48,464 — $21,080 of which was earned in steer roping and $21,074 of which came from team roping. The remainder of Brazile’s 1998 earnings came from his third event, calf roping.

He in turn is followed by Herbert Theriot, Poplarville, Miss., with $35,874; J.P. Wickett, Muldrow, Okla., $27,586; and Kurt Goulding, Duncan, Okla., $25,435.
