W.G. Rawls and L.J. Hollis of San Angelo this week
sold two loads of feeder yearling muttons weighing 78
pounds at 17 cents a pound to Amos Womble of San Angelo.

Bill Foley, of Wertheimer Cattle Company at Amarillo,
bought 340 steer yearlings from Lincoln Burns of Seymour
at $19.15 cwt., June 4 delivery.

Wallace Locke of Amarillo is reported to have sold 170
steer yearlings weighing 675 pounds at $18.75 to George
Crussell, Walnut Grove, Missouri; these were delivered
May 31.

The S.B. Burnett Estate is reported to have sold off
its Borger ranch 1600 two year-old steers at $19 cwt.,
May 29 and June 5 delivery, to Burns, O'Conner &
Skinner of Lexington, Nebraska to go in feedlots.

Toombs and Taylor of Uvalde have sold 4000 heifer and
steer yearlings to Maurice Cohen of San Antonio at 17 and
18 cents a pound on the heifers and steers, respectively.

Mayfield & Askew of Sonora, Texas, have contracted
about 1500 crossbred blackface mixed lambs to a Fort
Worth buyer at $21 straight across, the heavy end to be
delivered during June and the rest in August.

Rue Wharton and DeWitt Dulaney of Dalhart bought, from
Gilbert Childers of the same city, 224 heifer yearlings
weighing 620 pounds at $24; these were delivered in
Dalhart from Munday, Texas, and went into Dalhart
feedlots.

Ollie Scott of Lipscomb, Texas, is reported to have
sold about 100 mixed calves for fall delivery at $30
straight across; these are expected to average near 500
pounds.

Nig Reed of Tulia, Texas, bought 450 choice quality
mixed calves for Oct. 15 delivery from Roy McMurty,
Silverton, at $31 for heifers and $33 for steers.

Clint Craft of Roy, N.M., sold 640 Angus two year-old
steers expected to weigh near 800 pounds at $24 for Oct.
1-20 delivery, his option, to Producers Livestock
Marketing Assn., Denver. Craft said these cattle
originated in Mexico.

The number of feeder cattle and calves shipped into
eight Cornbelt states during April this year totaled
487,000 head, 16 percent more than during April last
year, says the USDA.
