Abilene Feeder Steer,
Heifer Prices Higher

ABILENE —(June 9)— Feeder steers and heifers sold steady to $2 higher, slaughter cows and bulls $1-2 higher, stock cows $50 higher, pairs steady. Receipts totaled 1329 head.

Feeder steers: medium and large No. 1 200-300 lbs. $98-104, 300-400 lbs. $85-92, 400-500 lbs. $76-83, 500-600 lbs. $76-82, 600-700 lbs. $72-75.50, 700-800 lbs. $66-70.50, 800-900 lbs $63-68.

Feeder heifers: medium and large No. 1 300-400 lbs. $78-84, 400-500 lbs. $75-80, 500-600 lbs. $72-78, 500-700 lbs. $67-71.50.

Slaughter cows: high cutter and boning utility 1-3 $35-38.50, high dressing $38.50-39, cutter 1-3 $31-34.50, canner and low cutter $19-30.50; yield grade 1-2 bulls 1250-1900 lbs. $46.50-52.50.

Stock cows: young 900-1250 lbs. 7-8 months bred $510-540 per head, aged 1050-1200 lbs. 4-8 months bred $360-480; young 1100-1250 lb. cows with 75-150 lb. calves $550-590 per pair, aged 1000-1250 lb. cows with 100-200 lb. calves $480-540.
