Abilene Feeder Cattle
Prices Up And Down

ABILENE —(June 23)— Feeder steers weighing 200-400 pounds sold $1-2 higher, others mostly steady to $1 lower, heifers 500-600 pounds $1 higher, others steady to $1 lower, slaughter cows $1 lower, bulls steady, stock cows steady. Receipts totaled 1786 head.

Feeder steers: medium and large No. 1 200-300 lbs. $96-106, 300-400 lbs. $88-96, 400-500 lbs. $80-87, 500-600 lbs. $74-79, 600-700 lbs. $68-75, 700-800 lbs. $65-69.50.

Feeder heifers: medium and large No. 1 200-300 lbs. $93-103, 300-400 lbs. $70-80, 400-500 lbs. $71-78, 500-600 lbs. $69-76, 600-700 lbs. $65.75-71.50, few $74, 700-800 lbs. $61.50-67, 800-900 lbs. $57-63.50.

Slaughter cows: high cutter and boning utility $35-39.50, cutter 1-3 $30-34.50, canner and low cutter $20-29.50; yield grade 1-2 bulls 1600-2250 lbs. $46-51.50, low yielding 1600-1900 lbs. $43.50-45.50.

Stock cows: young 1000-1400 lbs. 7-8 months bred $430-490 per head; young 1100-1250 lb. cows with 75-150 lb. calves $550-590 per pair, aged 1050-1350 lb. cows with 100-200 lb. calves $410-530.
