for current delivery 150 No. 1 steers weighing 750 pounds
at $70, also 200 No. 1 heifers weighing 725 at $65.50; in
the Texas Panhandle 200 No. 1½ Okie and crossbred
heifers weighing 650 at $66.
Brown Cattle Co., Clyde, sold on a delivered basis to
a Nebraska buyer one load of black, black whiteface, red
whiteface and Charolais heifers weighing 497 pounds at
$77.92; to a Colorado buyer two loads of similar heifers
weighing 499 at $77.80; to a West Texas feedyard one load
of No. 1 Okie and crossbred steers and bulls weighing 373
at $84.55. The firm sold to Kansas buyers one load of No.
1 and better Okie steers and a few bulls weighing 497 at
$76, also two loads of fancy Okies, mostly steers,
weighing 573 at $72.97, both f.o.b. prices.
USDA reports 5575 head of feeder cattle selling direct
off Oklahoma range, including: for July 15 delivery
medium and large No. 1 steers to weigh 600 pounds at
$76.25; for current delivery similar steers weighing 750
pounds at $71.50-73, 800 pounds at $70-70.25, 825-850
pounds at $68-69, 875 pounds at $67.50, and 925 pounds at
$67; similar heifers weighing 625-675 pounds at
$68-69.50, 700 pounds at $66-69, 725-750 pounds at
$66-67.50, and 800 pounds at $64.
Direct feeder cattle trade in the Northwest as
confirmed by USDA totaled 1700 head. Medium and large No.
1 feeder steers weighing 550-575 pounds brought $88
f.o.b. Idaho, 850-875 pounds $65.50-66 f.o.b. Washington
and Oregon, and 900 pounds $70 delivered in Washington;
similar heifers weighing 500-550 pounds were $82 f.o.b.
Idaho, 775-800 pounds $64-64.50 f.o.b. Washington and
Oregon, and 825 pounds $62.50-65 f.o.b. Idaho and Oregon.
USDA reports 315 head of medium and large No. 1 feeder
steers selling direct in Montana, weighing 750-800 pounds
at $73.50-74.
