TSGRA Sets Kerrville
Meeting July 16-18
SAN ANGELO The 83rd annual convention of the
Texas Sheep and Goat Raisers Association is set for
July 16-18 in Kerrville at the Inn of the Hills.
Registration begins at 9 a.m. Friday with committee
meetings following. Committees will meet all day Friday
and resume Saturday morning, with the general business
meeting beginning at 3 p.m. on Saturday. State
Representative Warren Chisum, chairman of the House
Committee on Environmental Regulations and a member of
the House Select Committee on Revenue and Public
Education, is a scheduled speaker and will discuss what
livestock producers can expect in the next session of the
state legislature.
Fridays luncheon speaker will be Charlie
Scruggs, former editor of Progressive Farmer.
Scruggs is well known to sheep and goat raisers for his
work with the screwworm eradication program. Elmer
Kelton, a highly acclaimed western writer, former editor
of Ranch Magazine and former associate editor of
Livestock Weekly, is the scheduled Saturday luncheon
speaker. Kelton will share some of his wit and wisdom
gained from long years in the livestock industry.
