Angelo Lamb Prices
Trend Sharply Lower
SAN ANGELO Compared to the last sale two weeks
ago, feeder lambs sold $6-8 lower, slaughter lambs were
poorly tested and slaughter ewes were $3-5 lower.
Receipts totaled 17,500 head. The supply was about 10
percent feeder lambs and the balance slaughter ewes and
goats.
In observance of the July 4 holiday there was no
cattle sale last week.
Feeder lambs: medium and large 1-2 40-95 lbs. $72-78;
medium and large No. 2 40-95 lbs. $62.50-72.
Slaughter lambs: choice 2-3 newcrop 95-120 lbs.
$78-82;good and choice 2-4 slaughter ewes $28-37, utility
and good 1-3 $34-45, utility 1-2 $26-34, cull and utility
1-2 $20-26;bucks $30-39, few $43. Stock ewes: medium and
large 1-2 solidmouth $61 per head. Goats: slaughter meat
goat billies and wethers 100-150 lbs. $55-90 per head,
150-200 lbs. $95-150; nannies 70-110 lbs. $45-52 cwt.,
thin 60-90 lbs. $30-45, choice and prime kids and
yearlings 45-60 lbs. $75-83, 60-100 lbs. $76-81, set $88,
choice 35-60 lbs. $65-75, 60-100 lbs. $70-75, good 35-60
lbs. $55-65, 60-80 lbs. $58-66; choice Angoras 60-80 lbs.
