DODGE CITY, Kan. —(USDA)— Too few feeder steers or heifers traded in Kansas direct areas for an adequate market test. Sales were confirmed on 1823 head.

Temperatures were seasonally warm with occasional thunderstorms producing from traces to two inches of rain. Wheat harvest has moved farther north, leaving the area with excellent yields and quality.

Feeder steer: medium and large No. 1 few 825-850 lbs. $67-69, few 1025 lbs. $67; 700-800 lbs. delivered $71.50-74, 825-900 lbs. $74.

Feeder heifers: medium and large No. 1 few 680 lbs. $70, few 850 lbs. $66.50; 625-700 lbs. delivered $66-67.50, 700-725 lbs. $66-67.50, few 875-900 lbs. $64, few 900-950 lbs. $52.90-56.80 mostly heiferettes.
