Dear Sir,
On behalf of the Wyoming sheep and livestock
industries, as well as the wildlife resource of the
state, the Wyoming Wool Growers Association would like to
publicly thank Congresswoman Barbara Cubin for her
extraordinary efforts in securing the vitally important
funding for the federal Wildlife Services program in
Wyoming. As many of your readers are aware, the program's
funding was attacked and initially eliminated by liberal
members of the U.S. House acting at the behest of radical
animal rights and environmental groups, whose main
interests are to cripple and eliminate the agriculture
and livestock industries of the West.
Following the initial defunding of the program,
Representative Cubin worked ceaselessly and tirelessly
explaining to many of the members of the House who
originally voted to eliminate the program of the
importance and need for the agency. Wildlife Services
personnel spend thousands of hours annually in endeavors
such as making our airlines safe from bird strikes and in
the control of diseases such as rabies. Additionally,
their program is supported by such diverse groups as the
Airline Pilots Association, the International Association
of Fish and Wildlife Agencies, the Wildlife Society and
Safari Club International. Not surprisingly, the groups
that advocated for the elimination of the program place
much more value on the so called "rights" of
some animals than they do on human life, healthy wildlife
populations or private property.
Wyoming is truly fortunate to have representation in
Congress of the caliber, dedication and experience of
Barbara Cubin, Craig Thomas and Mike Enzi. They are in
large measure the only thing standing between the ability
of the people of Wyoming to control our own destiny and a
takeover by those from outside the state who want nothing
more than to completely dictate our existence. The people
of Wyoming owe all three a huge "Thank You" the
next time they see them around the state.
