Texas Panhandle for October delivery two loads of No. 1
steers to weigh 750 pounds at $70; for September two
loads of No. 1 heifers to weigh 675 at $65.50. The firm
bought in North Texas for current delivery one load of
No. 1-1½ crossbred steers weighing 665 pounds at $71.50,
also one load of similar steers weighing 775 at $67.50
and a load of similar heifers weighing 715 at $64.50.
Ty Jones Cattle Co., Canyon, bought in the Texas
Panhandle 650 No. 1-1½ Okie and crossbred steers
weighing 700 pounds at $73.
Brown Cattle Co., Clyde, sold to a West Texas feedyard
one load of No. 1 Okie and crossbred steers and bulls
weighing 375 pounds at $84.20 delivered; to Kansas buyers
one load of No. 1 and better Okie steers weighing 460 at
$78.70 f.o.b. and two loads of No. 1 feeder heifers
weighing 706 at $66.72 delivered; to a Colorado buyer
three loads of black, black whiteface and red whiteface
heifers weighing 493 at $76.01 delivered.
USDA reports 8525 head of feeder cattle selling direct
off Oklahoma range, including: for current delivery
medium and large No. 1 steers weighing 550-575 pounds at
$79-80, 600-650 pounds at $74, 740-775 pounds at
$68.70-72, and 800-875 pounds at $66-71, late $66-67;
similar heifers weighing 570-675 pounds at $66-70,
700-725 pounds at $67.50-69.50, and 725-750 pounds at
$62-68, late $62-65.
Direct feeder cattle trade in the Northwest as
confirmed by USDA totaled 250 head of medium and large
No. 1 steers weighing 900 pounds at $65 f.o.b. Oregon.
Direct feeder cattle trade in Montana as reported by
USDA came to 275 head. Medium and large No. 1 steers
weighing 750 pounds brought $71 f.o.b., a couple of loads
weighing 875 pounds $67; similar heifers weighing 700
were $68 f.o.b.
