Ty Jones Cattle Co., Canyon, bought in North Texas and
the Panhandle 100 No. 1 Okie and crossbred steers
weighing 500 pounds at $73, also 100 heifer mates
weighing 500 at $68, and 300 No. 1 Okie heifers weighing
675 at $64.
Brown Cattle Co., Clyde, sold to Northern Colorado
buyers on a delivered basis one load of No. 1 and better
English and English cross heifers weighing 485 pounds at
$75.22, and later one load of similar heifers weighing
477 at $74.18; to a West Texas feedyard a single-deck
load of English and English cross steers and bulls
weighing 373 at $85.12 delivered; to an Oklahoma buyer
one load of No. 1 and better English steers weighing 491
at $74.84 f.o.b.; to a Kansas buyer a load of No. 1½ and
toppy No. 2 cutting bulls weighing 658 at $63.58.
USDA reports 12,950 head of feeder cattle selling
direct off Oklahoma range, including: for current
delivery medium and large No. 1 steers weighing 475
pounds at $81.50, also 600-675 pounds at $70.50-72,
700-775 pounds at $69-72, 800-875 pounds at $64.50-70.50,
mostly $67-68, and 900 pounds at $64; similar heifers
weighing 475 at $76, 575 pounds at $66, and 725-750
pounds at $63-65; medium and large 1-2 steers weighing
785 pounds at $68.
Direct feeder cattle trade in the Northwest as
confirmed by USDA totaled 1200 head. Medium and large No.
1 steers weighing 850 pounds brought $64-66 delivered in
Washington, similar heifers weighing 825 pounds $62-64
delivered in Washington.
