Vann-Roach Cattle Co., Fort Worth, bought in Northeast Texas 220 No. 1 exotic cross steer calves weighing 600 pounds at $69, also 230 heifer mates weighing 575 at $63, and 120 fancy exotic heifers weighing 725 at $64; in West Texas 150 No. 1 crossbred steers weighing 650 at $68; in Central Texas 210 similar steers weighing 725 at $67.50.

Ty Jones Cattle Co., Canyon, bought in Oklahoma 500 No. 1-1½ Okie and crossbred steers weighing 850 pounds at $62.

Brown Cattle Co., Clyde, sold to Kansas buyers one load of No. 1 and better English steers weighing 487 pounds at $77.87 f.o.b., and to a feedyard two loads of No. 1 fancy English and English cross steers weighing 521 at $74.75 delivered; to Oklahoma buyers one load of No. 1 English and English cross heifers weighing 440 at $69.39 and a load of English and Okie heifers weighing 672 at $59.85, both f.o.b.; to a local buyer two loads of No. 1 English pairs with big calves at $625 per pair f.o.b. Clyde; to go to grass in various northern states four loads of running age cows weighing 586 pounds at $35.07 f.o.b.

USDA reports 4020 head of feeder cattle selling direct off Oklahoma range, including: medium and large No. 1 steers weighing 525 pounds at $72.50, also 625 pounds at $70, 750-775 pounds at $65-67.50, 800-835 pounds at $64.50-66.50, and 925 pounds at $62; similar heifers weighing 550 pounds at $68, 625-725 pounds at $63-64, and 875 pounds at $61.50; medium and large 1-2 heifers weighing 850 at $58; medium and large No. 1 fancy black cows, four to five years old, 1050-1150 pounds with 350 pound calves and mostly bred back for spring, at $775 per pair.

Northwest direct feeder cattle trading as confirmed by USDA totaled 6000 head. Medium and large No. 1 steers weighing 550 pounds earned $71-74 f.o.b. Oregon for October delivery and $73-75 for November, $75-78 weaned; 850-875 pounders were $62-63 f.o.b. Oregon for current delivery and $63 for 850 pounds delivered in Washington and Idaho, 900 pounds $61.50 f.o.b. Oregon; similar heifers weighing 550 pounds were $65-66 f.o.b. Oregon for October, $67-70 weaned and delivered in Oregon for November, 750-800 pounds $59-61 f.o.b. Oregon for current delivery.

Montana direct feeder trade as per USDA count came to 1715 head. Medium and large No. 1 steers weighing 850-900 pounds were $67-68 and 900-925 pounds $62-66, similar heifers weighing 850-900 pounds $62-62.50, all f.o.b. for current delivery.
