Fred Speen of Ballinger this week sold a consignment
of fat spring lambs weighing 85 pounds at $21 on the Fort
Worth market through Texas Livestock Marketing

Jack Gritzmaker of Clovis, New Mexico, recently bought
1550 lambs averaging 39 pounds at $12.50 cwt., from
Walton Kothmann of Menard.

Cleves Jones of Sonora this week bought and shipped on
order 150 mixed Angus calves weighing around 400 pounds
at 17 and 20 cents on the heifers and steers,
respectively. The calves were bought from Mac Cauthorn,
Bill Wade and Jack Grafa, all of Sonora.

Purses for the 1953 New Mexico State Fair championship
rodeo have been increased by more than $1000 and will
total $11,250, highest ever offered in a rodeo in the

Neal Jackson of Stratford, Texas, sold 130 steer
yearlings expected to weigh 750-775 pounds for Oct. 1-20
delivery at $25 to a Scott City, Kan., buyer.

600 pounds at $27.50 for October delivery to an Amarillo
buyer.

fall clip at 81½ cents for adult and $1.21½ for kid,
according to local information.

at 574 million pounds was two percent above the previous
week and 10 percent above a year earlier.

adult bringing a new high at $4.85, another 37,000 pounds
of average adult $4.728. About 6500 pounds of top
yearling brought $6.088.
