D.M. Martinez of Roy, New Mexico, is reported to have sold 150 steer calves for October delivery to Bill Croft of Lewis, Kansas, at 20 cents a pound. The calves are expected to weigh 375 to 400 pounds on delivery.

The A-Bar-A Ranch, Encampment, Wyoming, has sold its Angus steer calves to George A. Pitts of Bloomington, Illinois, at $22.50 cwt.

Dick DeLong of San Angelo has sold 600 whiteface yearling ewes at $13.50 per head.

Joe Blakeney of San Angelo this week sold 900 solidmouth ewes to L.L. Watson of Eldorado at $8 each.

The Top Hat Ranches at Roscoe, and Two Dot, Montana, last week sold a load of yearling heifers averaging 650 pounds at $17.50 cwt., to go to Iowa.

Dick Mayfield, Silverton, Texas, sold 200 mixed calves expected to average 500 pounds or more at $29 straight across for Oct. 10 delivery to an Amarillo buyer through Ab Wright of that city.

Homer Bennett, Clovis, sold 212 Angus steer yearlings expected to weigh near 600 pounds at $25 to Hez Abernathy, Clovis, for Oct. 8 delivery.

Jack Bradley of Hereford sold 200 heifer yearlings expected to weigh around 800 pounds at $24 to Sam Ketch of Rocky Ford, Colo.

Fred Ball of San Angelo received 650 blackface lambs in the Alpine area that averaged 104 pounds. These were bought several weeks ago from Gay Merriwether. The lambs all went to packers at $22.50 cwt.

Tye C. Terrell of Santa Fe has bought the Lovelace Livestock Co. lambs at Corona, N.M., for October delivery at $21.60 and $22.60.

The MKO Ranch at Grenola has raised a 93 percent calf crop this year, reports Tom Moore, manager. The MKO commercial Hereford herd consists of 900 cows, including 167 heifers that raised 160 calves. Some of the ranch's steer calves recently sold at $29, weighing 490 pounds.

The Mexican government has authorized cattle exports totaling the equivalent of 1,385,000 head during the 1963-64 season. This is the largest number the government has ever allowed to be shipped out of the country.

Cluck Cattle Co., Dimmitt, sold 114 fed steers described as good grade mixed breeds weighing 1040 pounds at $22.75 to Texas Meat Packers Inc., Dallas.

Mrs. Fred Lemons, Silverton, Texas, sold 50 steer calves weighing near 500 pounds at $28 to Lloyd Schnede of Wheatland, Iowa.

JWJ Cattle Co., Rawls, Texas, sold 181 No. 1 Okie steers weighing about 700 pounds at $26.50 to an Amarillo buyer.

Texico Feed Lots, Texico, N.M., sold 135 steers weighing 1000 pounds, grading 60 percent choice, at $27.20 to a New Mexico packer.

Gouvion & Rutherford, Amarillo, sold 208 steers weighing 1140 pounds, grading 85 percent choice, at $27.60 out of Hereford Feed Yards to a Texas packer.

Rex Allen, Hollywood cowboy star, will be an active supporter of the 14th annual Cattlemen's Roundup for Crippled Children this year, as he has for the past 12 years for the West Texas Rehabilitation Center in Abilene.

The San Angelo lamb auction offered no fats. Choice heavy feeders weighing 70-85 pounds were mainly $34-35, choice stocker lambs 50-70 pounds $34-37, plainer lambs $30-34.

Confirmed screwworm cases in Texas as of Wednesday totaled 304, an increase of 33 cases over last week. Arizona, with 2454 cases, is up 166 cases, the same level of increase as the week before last.

Producers Wool and Mohair Co., Del Rio, appeared to be the biggest seller, committing its entire fall adult accumulation at $1.50. Tonnage is estimated at 300,000.

In San Angelo choice and prime slaughter lambs weighing 100-130 lbs. earned $57-62. The Midwest had fats $61-69.75, and in teleauction there, prices were $64.75-66.75.
