Texas Panhandle for November delivery 650 No. 1
English-exotic cross steers to weigh 750 pounds at $70,
and for current delivery 200 similar steers weighing 750
at $67, 200 similar steers weighing 800 at $65.50, 200
more weighing 825 at $65, and 300 similar heifers
weighing 700 at $63.50; in West Texas for October 210 No.
1-1½ crossbred heifers to weigh 675 at $61; in North
Texas for current delivery three loads of No. 1 crossbred
steers weighing 800 at $64.50; and in South Texas 70 No.
1½ crossbred steers weighing 650 at $64, plus a load of
heifer mates weighing 625 at $62.
Ty Jones Cattle Co., Canyon, bought in the Texas
Panhandle 160 No. 1 crossbred steers weighing 650 pounds
at $68; in Oklahoma 130 No. 1-1½ Okie and crossbred
steers weighging 800 at $65.50.
Brown Cattle Co., Clyde, sold to local buyers a half
load of No. 1 and better English and English cross steers
and bulls weighing 363 pounds at $89.10 and a half load
of heifer mates weighing 347 at $71.18; to Kansas buyers
one load of fancy No. 1 black, black whiteface and red
whiteface steers weighing 478 pounds at $76.08 delivered,
also one load of No. 1 English and English cross heifers
weighing 416 at $70.11 delivered, and one load of No. 1
and better English cross heifers weighing 528 at $64.83
f.o.b.; to northern buyers one load of fancy black and
black whiteface cows bred four to six months at $485 per
head f.o.b., also four loads of mixed color cows weighing
920-960 pounds at $35.12-37.40.
USDA reports 7150 head of feeder cattle selling direct
off Oklahoma range, including: for current delivery
medium and large No. 1 steers weighing 625-650 pounds at
$68-69, also 700-775 pounds at $65-68.75, 800-850 pounds
at $63.50-66.50, and 875-885 pounds at $63-65.50; similar
heifers weighing 585-610 at $64-64.50, 700 pounds at $66,
750 pounds at $61-62, and 800 pounds at $71; medium and
large 1-2 steers weighing 775 at $63 and similar heifers
weighing 600 at $64 and 700-775 pounds at $61.
Direct feeder cattle trade in the Northwest as
confirmed by USDA totaled 3750 head. Medium and large No.
1 steers weighing 850 pounds brought $61 f.o.b. Oregon,
850 pounds $60 delivered in Washington and Idaho, and 900
pounds $62-62.50 delivered in Washington and Idaho early;
similar heifers weighing 775-800 pounds were $60 f.o.b.
