"It makes me mighty sad," said John, "to realize that the older I get the less I know, but I'll swear it's the truth. If I keep going on this way, pretty soon I'll have to hire a psychiatrist to tell me whether I ought to raise livestock or get the C.C.C. to let me whittle pipes out of government-owned corncobs."

Recently a fellow set a world record, made 1000 parachute jumps in 24 hours and lived to tell about it. How would you like to be carrying his insurance? Sky diving gives me a falling sensation just to think about it. I never did care for any sport that you had to do exactly right the first time.

The flight plan from Livingstone airport in Zambia followed the Zambezi River downstream from Victoria Falls to land on an airstrip every bit as smooth as the dirt ones on New Mexico ranches. As I See It ...
I've been studying driving habits on our two-lane roads that are blessed with wide paved shoulders. If you catch me bragging, and my bird dogs aren’t the subject, chances are it’s about the Bobwhite Brigade. Now in its sixth year, this bobwhite "boot camp" for high school youth has certainly provided me with enough experiences to fill a lifetime. Originating from the rolling hills north of Abilene, additional camps have since sprung up in East Texas (since ‘96) and just this year in South Texas.
