Vann-Roach Cattle Co., Fort Worth, bought in North Texas for October delivery 200 No. 1 English and exotic cross steer calves to weigh 540 pounds at $70, also 200 heifer mates to weigh 500 at $64; in the Texas Panhandle for current delivery 525 similar steers weighing 725 at $67.

Ty Jones Cattle Co., Canyon, bought in North Texas 350 No. 1-1½ Okie and crossbred heifers weighing 550 pounds at $65.

Brown Cattle Co., Clyde, sold to an Oklahoma buyer two loads of No. 1 and better black, black whiteface and red whiteface steers weighing 448 pounds at $78.42 f.o.b.; to a Kansas buyer one load of No. 1 and better black, black whiteface and Charolais cross heifers weighing 411 at $70.50 delivered; to northern buyers one load of English and English-exotic cross running age cows, all one brand, weighing 900-965 pounds at $35.96, also one load of similar weight black and black whiteface running age cows at $33.90, and a load of mixed color English and English cross running age cows at $33.11, all f.o.b.

USDA reports 5420 head of feeder cattle selling direct off Oklahoma range, including: for November delivery medium and large No. 1 steers to weigh 750 pounds at $69; for current delivery similar steers weighing 550 at $68, also 600-650 pounds at $70, 700-780 pounds at $65-67, 800-825 pounds at $64-66.25, and 925 pounds at $60; similar heifers weighing 600 at $61-64, 650-700 pounds at $60.75-65.50, and 725-750 pounds at $60.50-63.

Direct feeder cattle trade in the Northwest as confirmed by USDA totaled 300 head. Medium and large No. 1 steers weighing 575 pounds brought $68 f.o.b. Oregon, 825-850 pounds $61-62 f.o.b. Oregon, and large No. 2 Holsteins weighing 850 pounds were $47 delivered in Idaho; medium and large No. 1 heifers weighing 550 pounds were $60 f.o.b. Oregon and 825 pounds $57 f.o.b. Idaho.

Montana direct feeder cattle trade by USDA count came to 4470 head. Medium and large No. 1 steers weighing 800-825 pounds brought $65-65.50, 850-900 pounds $62-63.50, 900-950 pounds $60.50-61, 550 pounds $70 for October, 600-625 pounds $68-72 for October, and 500-550 pounds $76-79 for November; similar heifers weighing 750 pounds were $64.25, 800-850 pounds $60.50-62, a couple of loads weighing 900 pounds $57-58, 525 pounds $64-65 for October, replacement quality kinds weighing 525-550 pounds $71-73 for November. All prices are f.o.b.
