ABILENE —(Sept. 8)— Feeder steers sold mostly $2 lower, heifers $1-2 lower, except 400-600 pounds fully steady, slaughter cows $1-2 lower, bulls steady, stock cows and pairs slightly lower. Receipts totaled 1673 head.

Feeder steers: medium and large No. 1 300-400 lbs. $76-86, 400-500 lbs. $70-80, 500-600 lbs. $61-68.50, 600-700 lbs. $59-65, 700-800 lbs. $58-63.

Feeder heifers: medium and large No. 1 200-300 lbs. $71-78, 300-400 lbs. $64-70, 400-500 lbs. $63-70, 500-600 lbs. $60-64.50, 600-700 lbs. $57-62.50, 700-800 lbs. $56-61.

Slaughter cows: breakers 1000-1250 lbs. $30-34, boners $30-34, high yielding 1150-1350 lbs. $34.50-36.50, lean 900-1200 lbs. $29-33, 750-900 lbs. $28-33, under 750 lbs. $22.50-28.50; yield grade 1-2 bulls 1300-2100 lbs. $42.50-56 high dressing $45-49.50, 1000-1300 lbs. $40-45.

Stock cows: medium and large 1-2 young 850-1250 lbs. 7-8 months bred $340-400 per head, aged 900-1250 lbs. 5-8 months bred $285-330; medium and large 1-2 young 900-1300 lb. cows with 75-200 lb. calves $450-510 per pair.
