Kansas Direct Feeder
Cattle Prices Lower

DODGE CITY, Kan. —(USDA)— Feeder steers and heifers sold $1-2 lower in Kansas direct trade last week. Sales were confirmed on 4365 head. Corn and milo harvest is in full swing, but little room remains at the local elevators to store it. Some elevators are clearing areas to pile the surplus.

Feeder steers: medium and large No. 1 775-800 lbs. $65-68, 800-875 lbs. $61-67, some with a six cent slide; few 625-650 lbs. delivered $70, 825 lbs. $66-66.25,

Feeder heifers: medium and large No. 1 700-775 lbs. $58-63; few 625-650 lbs. delivered $63.50-64, few 775-800 lbs. $56.50-56.75, end heiferettes, few 825-850 lbs. $52-52.25 end heiferettes.
