Prices Sharply Higher

ABILENE —(Sept. 15)— Feeder steers and heifers sold mostly $3-4 higher, slaughter cows and bulls fully steady, stock cows steady to $30 higher, pairs $50-60 higher. Receipts totaled 2521 head.

Feeder steers: medium and large No. 1 200-300 lbs. $87-93, 300-400 lbs. $78-89, 400-500 lbs. $75-84, few 419 lbs. $86, 500-600 lbs. $67.50-73, package 515 lbs. $77, 600-700 lbs. $63-67.50, 700-800 lbs. $62-66.25, 800-900 lbs. $58-63.

Feeder heifers: medium and large No. 1 300-400 lbs. $65-71, 400-500 lbs. $64.50-69, 500-600 lbs. $62.50-67,50, 600-700 lbs. $60-66.50, 700-800 lbs. $57-61, 800-900 lbs. $50.50-55.50.

Slaughter cows: breakers 1000-1250 lbs. $29.50-33.50, boners $30-34.50, high yielding $34.50-36.50, lean 900-1200 lbs. $29-33, 750-900 lbs. $28-31, under 750 lbs. $22-28; yield grade 1-2 bulls 1300-2100 lbs. $39-45, 1000-1300 lbs. $42.50-55.

Stock cows: medium and large 1-2 young 1100-1350 lbs. 6-8 months bred $380-435 per head, aged 1000-1100 lbs. 4-8 months bred $265-375; medium and large 1-2 young 1000-1300 lb. cows with 100-200 lb. calves $530-625 per pair.
