delivery in New Mexico 600 No. 1 Okie and crossbred
steers to weigh 775 pounds at $66, also 400 heifer mates
to weigh 725 at $62.
Vann-Roach Cattle Co., Fort Worth, bought in the Texas
Panhandle for October delivery two loads of No. 1 steer
calves to weigh 525 pounds at $72, also two loads of
heifer mates to weigh 500 at $65; for current delivery in
the Panhandle four loads of No. 1 Okie steers weighing
800 at $67; in Kansas five loads of No. 1-1½ crossbred
steers weighing 850 at $62.
Brown Cattle Co., Clyde, sold to Kansas buyers one
load of English and English exotic cross steers and bulls
weighing 277 pounds at $88.70, also one load of No. 1
English and English cross steers and bulls weighing 450
at $75.98, and a load of No. 1 English and English cross
heifers weighing 525 at $65.80; to a Gulf Coast buyer one
load of No. 1 Brangus and Brangus whiteface cows, 1130
pounds and four to six years old, bred to calve in
January and February, at $527.80 per head. All prices are
f.o.b.
USDA reports 1025 head of feeder cattle selling direct
off Oklahoma range, including: for current delivery
medium and large No. 1 steers weighing 725-790 pounds at
$66-68 and similar heifers weighing 700-750 pounds at
$62.50-63.50; large 1-2 steers weighing 775 pounds at
$64.
Direct feeder cattle trade in the Northwest as
confirmed by USDA totaled 1600 head. Medium and large No.
1 steers weighing 800 pounds brought $64.50 f.o.b. Oregon
and 850-875 pounds $63.50 delivered in Washington and
Idaho; similar heifers weighing 700-775 pounds were
$59-61.50 f.o.b. Oregon, 850 pounds $58 f.o.b. Idaho.
