Brown Cattle Co., Clyde, sold to a Kansas buyer one
load of No. 1 and better English steers and bulls
weighing 458 pounds at $75.96; to an Oklahoma buyer one
load of English and Brahman cross cutting bulls in medium
to heavy flesh and weighing 615 at $63.19 delivered; to a
local buyer a load of No. 1 and fancy steers and bulls
weighing 277 at $90.18; to a South Texas buyer a load of
young Brangus and Brahman cross cows weighing 1260 at
$515 per head.
USDA reports 2100 head of feeder cattle selling direct
off Oklahoma range, including: for November delivery
medium and large No. 1 steer calves to weigh 550-600
pounds at $76.50-79.50 laid in to Oklahoma, also similar
heifers to weigh 500 pounds at $74.50; for current
delivery medium and large No. 1 steers weighing 600-675
at $68-70, also 700-750 pounds at $67-68, 800-875 pounds
at $65-66, and a load weighing 925 pounds at $61; similar
heifers weighing 640-725 pounds at $62.
Direct feeder cattle trades in the Northwest as
confirmed by USDA totaled 11,000 head. Medium and large
No. 1 steers weighing 550-600 pounds brought $71-72
f.o.b. Idaho, 600-625 pounds $66 f.o.b. Washington,
850-900 pounds $63-64 f.o.b. Idaho and Oregon, 925 pounds
$61 f.o.b. Oregon; similar heifers weighing 500-550
pounds were $65-66 f.o.b. Idaho, 575 pounds $61.50 f.o.b.
Washington, 850-900 pounds $60-61 f.o.b. Idaho.
USDA counted 9650 head of feeder cattle selling direct
in Montana. Medium and large No. 1 steers weighing
500-550 pounds made $75-75.50 for November delivery, 600
pound steers $73, similar heifers weighing 500 pounds
$70; for October, steers weighing 500-550 pounds were
$69-70 and 550-600 pounds $67-69; for current delivery,
steers weighing 750 pounds earned $69, 800-850 pounds
$67-69, 850-900 pounds $65-66, and 900-950 pounds
$62-62.50; similar heifers weighing 725 pounds were $64,
and 850-900 pounds $60-62.
