Texas Panhandle for current delivery six loads of No. 1
English and exotic cross steers weighing 775 pounds at
$66.50, also four loads of similar heifers weighing 675
at $64; in Southeast Texas for November delivery 400
weaned No. 1 steer calves to weigh 625 at a price even
with the November board, also 415 heifer mates to weigh
600 at $5 back of the board.
Brown Cattle Co., Clyde, sold to a local buyer one
load of Brangus replacement heifers weighing 575 pounds
at $68.95; to South Texas buyers two loads of mixed color
Brahman influence cows weighing 1300 pounds with big
calves at side for $635 per pair, also two loads of young
mixed color Brahman cross springer cows, 4-6 months bred,
weighing 1165 pounds at $514 per head.
USDA reports 780 head of feeder cattle selling direct
off Oklahoma range, including: for current delivery
medium and large No. 1 steer calves weighing 550 pounds
at $70 and 750 pound yearlings at $65, also similar bull
calves weighing 550 at $63; similar heifers weighing
650-725 pounds were $61-65.
Direct feeder cattle trade in the Northwest as
confirmed by USDA totaled 950 head. Medium and large No.
1 steers weighing 850 pounds brought $62-64 f.o.b. Idaho,
925 pounds $61 f.o.b. Idaho; similar heifers weighing 775
pounds were $58-61 f.o.b. Idaho and Oregon.
Montana direct feeder cattle trade as per USDA came to
11,230 head. Medium and large No. 1 steers weighing 360
pounds earned $87, 800-825 pounds $65-67, 850-900 pounds
$61.50-65, string 950 pounds $62, couple loads 475 pounds
$75-80 for October, 500-550 pounds $76-79.50 for October,
550-600 pounds $72-75 for October, 600-675 pounds $68-73;
similar heifers weighing 750-800 pounds were $62-63,
string 850 pounds $61.40, 450-500 pounds $70-74 for
October, 500-550 pounds $65-70 for October, and 600-650
pounds $64-66 for October.
