Ty Jones Cattle Co., Canyon, bought in New Mexico for November delivery 360 No. Okie and crossbred steers to weigh 775 pounds at $66, also 1600 similar heifers to weigh 725 at $64.

Vann-Roach Cattle Co., Fort Worth, bought in North Texas for December delivery 600 No. 1 English and exotic cross heifers to weigh 650 pounds at $4.50 short of the January futures board.

USDA reports 2525 head of feeder cattle selling direct off Oklahoma range, including: for late November delivery medium and large No. 1 steers to weigh 800 pounds at $68.50; for early November similar steers to weigh 800 at $3 off the futures board; for current delivery similar steers weighing 700-775 pounds at $64.50-70, also 800 pounds at $64-66; similar heifers weighing 685-725 pounds $62.

Direct feeder cattle sales in the Northwest as confirmed by USDA totaled 300 head. Medium and large No. 1 steers weighing 850 pounds brought $63-64, similar heifers weighing 800 pounds $60.

Direct feeder cattle trade in Montana by USDA count came to 14,030 head. Medium and large No. 1 steers weighing 600-625 pounds brought $70-75, a couple of loads weighing 675 at $71, 800 pounds $68, string 900 pounds $63, 475 pounds $77 for late October, 500-550 pounds $75-77 for October, 550-600 pounds $71-75.50 for October, and 650-675 pounds $70-74 for October; similar heifers weighing 575 pounds were $65-66, a couple of loads 735 pounds $65, a string weighing 850 pounds $61.50, 450-475 pounds $71-72 for October, 500-550 pounds $67-70.50 for October, and 600-625 pounds $65-67 for October.
