1-1½ Okie and crossbred steers weighing 750 at $70; in
West Texas and New Mexico 700 No. 1-1½ heifers weighing
700 at $65.
Vann-Roach Cattle Co., Fort Worth, bought in Oklahoma
for November delivery 350 No. 1 English and exotic cross
steers to weigh 725 pounds at $72.50, and for current
delivery 300 similar heifers weighing 680 at $66.50; in
the Texas Panhandle for current delivery 220 similar
steers weighing 750 at $69.50.
USDA reports 2500 head of feeder cattle selling direct
off Oklahoma range, including: for March 1-15 delivery
medium and large No. 1 steers to weigh 750 pounds at
$70.50; for current delivery similar steer calves
weighing 375 at $81, 500 pounds at $82 and 750 pounds at
$67.50; yearlings weighing 650 at $75, 700-775 pounds at
$68-70, and 825-850 pounds at $68-68.50; similar heifers
weighing 425 pounds at $72, 575 pounds at $66, 675-700
pounds at $63-63.50, and 725 pounds at $66.
Direct feeder cattle trade in the Northwest as
confirmed by USDA totaled 1500 head. Medium and large No.
1 steers weighing 700-725 pounds brought $67-68 delivered
and 850-900 pounds $65-67 delivered; similar heifers
weighing 630 pounds were $65 delivered, 800 pounds $64
delivered.
Montana direct feeder trade by USDA count came to
10,950 head, all f.o.b. basis for current delivery.
Medium and large No. 1 steers weighing 500-525 pounds
made $77-80, 550-600 pounds $74-76, 600-650 pounds
$70-74, a couple of loads weighing 725 at $68, and
850-900 pounds $65-65.50; similar heifers weighing
450-500 pounds were $71-74, 500-550 pounds $68-70,
550-600 pounds $68-71, 600 pounds $66-68, and a couple of
loads weighing 875 pounds $63.50.
