ABILENE —(Oct. 27)— Feeder steers weighing under 400 pounds sold $4-6 higher, heavier steers and all heifers mostly steady, slaughter cows and bulls $2-3 lower, stock cows $30-40 higher, pairs steady to $20 higher. Receipts totaled 2563 head.

Feeder steers: medium and large No. 1 200-300 lbs. $91-101, 300-400 lbs. $91-99, 400-500 lbs. $77-86, 500-600 lbs. $71-77, 600-700 lbs. $65-71, 700-800 lbs. $62-66, 800-900 lbs. $58-61.50.

Feeder heifers: medium and large No. 1 200-300 lbs. $74-80, 300-400 lbs. $70-77, 400-500 lbs. $69-76, 500-600 lbs. $64-69, 600-700 lbs. $61-65.50, 700-800 lbs. $60-64.25, 800-900 lbs. $55-58.50.

Slaughter cows: breakers 1000-1250 lbs. $23.50-28.50, boners $28.50-31.50, high yielding 1150-1350 lbs. $32-34.75, lean 900-1200 lbs. $25.50-31, 750-900 lbs. $23-29, under 750 lbs. $20-27; yield grade 1-2 bulls 1300-2100 lbs. $34-38.50, high yielding $41.50-45, 1000-1300 lbs. $39.50-38.

Stock cows: medium and large 1-2 young 850-1200 lbs. 4-7 months bred $430-490 per head, aged 900-1050 lbs. 4-8 months bred $310-420; medium and large 1-2 young 850-1400 lb. cows with 75-150 lb. calves $475-550 per pair, aged 850-1100 lb. cows with 100-200 lb. calves $380-470.
