Brown Cattle Co., Clyde, sold on a delivered basis to the Texas Panhandle one load of No. 1 and better fancy English cross steer calves weighing 340 pounds at $91.40, also one load of No. 1 English and Brahman cross steers and bulls in medium flesh or lighter, weighing 650 at $71, one load of long-tail No. 1 and better English steers weighing 760 at $68, and two loads of English and English cross cutting bulls in heavy flesh, weighing 629 at $62.50; to Oklahoma wheat one load of English steers and bulls weighing 430 pounds, worked, given shots and cut at $79.40, also one load of No. 1 English and Brahman cross steers and bulls, no more than one-eighth to one-fourth Brahman, weighing 441 at $77. The firm sold on an f.o.b. basis to South Texas buyers one load of Brangus replacement heifers weighing 628 at $71.30, a short load of tigerstripe cows to calve in February weighing 1080 at $547.20 per head, a load of young Brangus cows bred to calve in February and weighing 1160 pounds at $538.90 per head, and a load of big, fancy young one-half to five-eighths Brahman cross cows for January and February calving, weighing 1180 at $537.62.

Vann-Roach Cattle Co., Fort Worth, bought in North Texas for December delivery to Kansas buyers 600 No. 1 Okie and crossbred heifers to weigh 650 pounds at $3 back of the January futures board; for November delivery, also to Kansas, 1700 similar heifers to weigh 600 at $1.50 back of the November board.

USDA reports 4590 head of feeder cattle selling direct off Oklahoma range, including: for March 1-15 delivery medium and large No. 1 steers to weigh 765 pounds at $70; for current delivery similar steers to weigh 725-775 pounds at $70-72 and similar heifers weighing 460 pounds at $70, also 650 pound heifers at $64 and 700-750 pounds at $65-67.50; medium and large 1-2 steers weighing 795 at $67 and 875 pounds at $65.50.

Direct feeder cattle trade in the Northwest as confirmed by USDA totaled 1000 head of medium and large No. 1 steers weighing 850 pounds at $65 delivered.

Montana direct feeder cattle sales by USDA count totaled 9035 head. Medium and large No. 1 steers weighing 500 pounds brought $79-80, 550-600 pounds $72.50-75, 600-650 pounds $71-76, 650-675 pounds $70-74, and a couple of loads weighing 875 pounds $65.50; similar heifers weighing 475 pounds were $74-75, 550-575 pounds $68-70, and 800-825 pounds $65-68.
