Kansas Feeder Cattle
Prices Termed Weak

DODGE CITY, Kan. —(USDA)— Feeder steers and heifers sold steady to weak in Kansas direct trading last week. Rain across the state ranged from 1.5 to 13 inches. Central and eastern Kansas caught most of the moisture, with major flooding around Wichita and south. Some losses of feeder cattle were noted in the area. Sales were confirmed 5859 head.

Feeder steers: medium and large No. 1, few 825 lbs. $68; 500-600 lbs. delivered $80.25-85, 600-700 lbs. $73.50-74, 700-725 lbs. $70-73.25, 800-850 lbs. $66.75-69.75.

Feeder heifers: medium and large No. 1 700-800 lbs. $64-67.50; 500-525 lbs. delivered $74.25-75, 600-675 lbs. $67-70, few 750 lbs. $65, 800-850 lbs. $62.75-63, blacks $71.25-71.50.
