CHAMPION
STEERS in Monday's special feeder sale at San
Angelo included the crossbreds, 11 head consigned by
B&C Ranch Co. Inc., Mertzon, averaging 716 pounds at
$64 or $458.24; and the Angus, 18 from Billy Echols,
Caddo, 711 pounds $65 or $462.15.
Steer, Heifer Prices Steady
In Angelo Special Sale Monday
SAN ANGELO Steers and heifers were steady here
Monday in the season's ninth special feeder sale at
Producers Livestock Auction.
Trading and demand were termed moderate and quality
average to attractive, including numerous bunches of
fresh preconditioned cattle. Calves made up 70 percent of
receipts, which totaled 2651 head compared to 4694 at the
last special sale earlier this month and 2943 for the
same day last year.
USDA reported prices this way:
Feeder steers: medium and large No. 1 300-400 pounds
$90-95.50, 400-500 pounds $78-83, 500-600 pounds $68-76,
600-700 pounds $62.50-69, 700-800 pounds $60-65.50;
medium and large 1-2 200-300 pounds $89-96, 300-400
pounds $72-88, 400-500 pounds $67-77, 500-600 pounds
$60-68, 600-700 pounds $57-62.50, 700-800 pounds

Feeder heifers: medium and large No. 1 200-300 pounds
